City of Taylor and the Taylor Economic Development Corporation Announce Agreement with Compal Electronics Inc.

Taylor, Texas – December 2025 – The City of Taylor and the Taylor Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) are proud to announce a major economic development agreement with Compal Electronics Inc. (Compal), a globally recognized electronics manufacturer headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan. This partnership represents a significant step forward in Taylor’s ongoing commitment to diversifying the local economy, attracting high-tech industry, and creating high-quality jobs for the community.

Under the terms of the agreement, Compal will occupy the TaylorPort Building, a state-of-the-art, approximately 366,000-square-foot manufacturing facility located at 1069 FM 3349. The building was developed speculatively by Partners Development to support advanced manufacturing operations and large-scale industrial users.

“We are excited to welcome Compal to Taylor,” said Betty Day, Chairperson of the Taylor Economic Development Corporation. “This investment not only strengthens our technology base but also underscores Taylor’s growing reputation as a hub for advanced technology and manufacturing.”

The agreement outlines Compal’s commitment to invest a minimum of $200 million in capital improvements and to create at least 750 new jobs, with plans to scale operations to approximately 900 employees at the Taylor facility.

TEDC is a Type A, 4A non-profit corporation founded by the Taylor voters in 1994. TEDC is funded by one-half percent of the annual sales tax from the City of Taylor and is a separate entity from the City of Taylor with a separate staff and budget. The organization is quasi-governmental, subject to open-records and open meetings laws with two exceptions for economic development and is treated by the State of Texas as a private, non-profit entity.
