Provides job listings, employee search, applicant screening, training programs, and access to workforce incentives for companies locating in the rural Greater Austin area
Brings college degrees and workforce readiness programs to Williamson County residents with certificates, associates, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, dual credits for high school students, and continuing education programs, including advanced manufacturing and healthcare technology training.Â
Legacy Early College is also run by EWCHEC. The center is located 13 miles from Taylor and is a partnership between Temple College, Texas State Technical College, and Texas A&M University-Central Texas.
The state agency charged with providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers. For employers, the TWC offers recruiting, retention, training and retraining, and outplacement services as well as information on labor law and labor market statistics
The Texas Skills Development Fund finances the design and implementation of customized job training projects. This fund matches business needs with local customized training programs. In FY 2005, the Fund awarded grants totaling $8.6 million to 95 Texas companies. Interested companies can contact the Taylor EDC for more information
Taylor ISD is focused on producing a skilled and educated talent pipeline to fill the workforce needs of Taylor businesses. The district offers multiple career and technical certifications and provides students an opportunity to earn college credits at no cost to the student, along with academic and social support services.
The purpose of the Upskilling Taylor Program is to assist businesses with a matching grant from the TEDC. The Upskilling Taylor Program allows businesses to receive customized training for existing employees or for programs tailored to develop critical skills for existing or new hires. The goal of the Upskilling Taylor Program is to increase the skills level and wages of the Taylor Workforce. A business may be eligible to receive a matching grant by partnering with a community college, technical college, or other accredited training organization. The Business responsibility: reporting requirements from the college to the TEDC, employees must be paid during training, companies limited up to $25,000.00 of total matching reimbursements per calendar year, 85% trainee retention for 60 days after training, and employees will receive a documented raise after training. Applications must meet: 75% Business/General Technical and 25% Non-Technical.
