Who is Taylor EDC?

Taylor EDC is a Type A, 4A non-profit corporation founded by the Taylor voters in 1994. Taylor is funded by one-half percent of the annual sales tax from the City of Taylor and are a separate entity from the city of Taylor with a separate staff and budget. The EDC has five board members that are appointed by the City Council for 3 year terms and meet on every third Wednesday of every month at 5:00 PM in the TEDC Conference Room (Notice posted 72 hours in advance).

Taylor EDC is quasi-governmental, subject to open-records and open meetings laws with two exceptions for economic development. We are treated by the State of Texas as a private, non-profit entity.

What We Do

  • ADVOCATE to create a positive business climate.

  • MENTOR AND COUNSEL small businesses and entrepreneurs.

  • COORDINATE LOCAL REAL ESTATE SITE LOCATIONS for existing buildings and undeveloped land sites.

  • FACILITATE INCENTIVES for retention of existing jobs and creation of new jobs; we work with city, county, school districts, state and federal agencies.

  • DEVELOP INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY through our two business parks totaling 148-acres.

  • PROMOTE & MARKET the community to improve the image and awareness of Taylor.

Who we can assist

  • The Taylor EDC is limited by State Statutes on the types of companies we can assist.

  • EDC projects must result in the "creation or retention of primary jobs".

  • PROVIDE LAND-GRANTS to qualified employers or projects

  • PROVIDE INFRASTRUCTURE-GRANTS for existing & new properties

  • PROVIDE FACADE-GRANTS for historic properties (for primary employers only)

  • PROVIDE FORGIVABLE LOANS for equipment and relocation assistance

  • ASSIST companies to secure incentives from other local and state agencies

  • IMPROVE YOUR WORKFORCE by working with our key partners in education to provide off-the-shelf or employer-customized training programs

  • EDUCATE LEADERS on policies, procedures or outcomes which assist companies to create or retain primary jobs.  Lobbying is not allowed.

  • FACILITATE PLANNING & PERMITTING processes with local and state agencies to minimize problems and delays on projects.
